So if you read my posts on the other Michael Sam thread you know that I'm a HUGE fan. Once I like/support someone I tend to become extremely biased and argue to the point of absurdity on their behalf even when they screw up. This is a trait I'm trying to change about myself because even though I may care about a person, no one is perfect or beyond making bad decisions. My first challenge is already happening with Mr. Sam. Not more than three days after he is drafted does the story break that he has accepted doing a docuseries about his life in conjunction with Oprah's OWN network. On the surface no big deal, EXCEPT This was already in the works prior to his draft day AND he hid it from teams afraid they wouldn't draft him!! This is a HUGE black eye on his integrity and overall intent of "making it only about football". We all know, or should know, that reality tv is heavily scripted and can be produced to sway "reality" to fit a specific narrative. All things that disgust me and keep me from watching so called reality tv. I'm not only disappointed but I'm angered by Mr. sam's decision to conduct himself in this manor. So much was riding on his actions coming into the NFL as the first openly gay male and already he is conducting himself poorly on behalf of the LGBT community. I still hope he makes the team and can show the world he has the talent and character to play in the NFL. HOWEVER, he has some serious making up to do to win me back as a fan!!

Well it's been announced that the docuseries is on hold. Very happy that Sam's camp has made the RIGHT decision!! That's one big step in the right direction.
