"People Destroying America" was a segment on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, and on this installment from August, 2013, Stephen Colbert was reporting on Johnny Cummings, the openly-gay mayor of one of the smallest towns in Kentucky, Vicco. Mayor Cummings introduced a "fairness ordinance" in the town, prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and it actually passed Vicco's city council by a vote of 3 to 1.
Now, with all due deference to the (faux) conservative icon, Mr. Colbert, who may see this move as yet another sign of America's moral downfall, I think a better name for the segment would be,
"Big Hearts In Small Town America". :-)
