I'm truly happy to help and I'm really happy for you. Telling the first person is the toughest, it gets easier.
I haven't told my parents yet either, but if you feel like the time is right and you truly want too tell them, "just" do it. That's what I'm (hopefully) gonna do next time I get home.
I'm sorry about your classmates, they do unfortunately still exist in Denmark, though they are the minority now. I think what you got to do is just stick it out and try not discussing it to much with them, because that will only make things worse and make you angry.
