His name is Matt Alber. He is a wonderful singer (imho), and he is awesomely gay! ;-) This is probably my favorite song of his. This video only makes me love the song more. Watch the video and see what two men can do in a barber shop that has NOTHING to do with cutting hair. You'd probably never have thought of it before! It's sweet and lovely...just like Matt (both the singer and our fearless leader!) :-)

I have a great YouTube video!! It is for a song that I have had stuck in my head for weeks now. I constantly ask for radio stations to play it because I want it to get as much publicity as possible. The video is for "Girls Chase Boys" by Ingrid Michaelson. She mocks traditional gender roles by parodying a music video from the 80's where women in tight clothing were dancing behind musician Robert Palmer. In her video there are men dancing with tight clothes and full makeup. For me, this song is kind of an LGBT Equality anthem.. every big movement has one!
I am always looking for messages of equality in the media and in today's music world. It seems as though we are always bombarded with sexism and cissexism in modern media and it frustrates me. Lately, a number of companies have been "marketing to LGBT communities" but it just feels like a publicity stunt. I am sick and tired of horrible music and music videos dominating the media.. Robin Thicke for example.
The Washington Post remarked that her video "will soon be the new normal." Maybe I'm just not that optimistic... I don't see any proof of that from other popular videos these day.
While I do have trouble believing that this will be the new normal- I want it to be. What do you think? Do you know of any artists or videos that are portraying messages of equality? I would love to hear your suggestions. Also, what do you think about an LGBT anthem? Do you like the song?
Oh, I wonder if I should have posted this in the What songs are you listening to thread.. Is reposting allowed on this site?
