hiya! hope everyone is ok. am brand new to LGBTsupport just found it whilst browsing google for 'LGBT forums'. am thirty years old,FtM trans, and have a very confusing sexuality- it appears as complete asexuality to self and gay to outsiders but its all due to the impact from disability;am classic autistic and have mild intelectual disability, epilepsy, severely disabling sciatica and a bunch of other stuff. its very difficult not being able to understand ones own sexuality.
am a special olympics athlete; representing cheshire, love animals [have pet rabbits and chickens], enjoy gaming [xbox 360 and PC],also love films and tv shows like breaking bad. am on the long journey to getting accepted as FtM officialy despite having lived as FtM entire life, hope to have surgery to remove boobs as they have felt alien/like a foreign body ever since they started growing but dont want to go as far as changing name or hormones because cannot cope with change.
does anyone know the process to getting the transgender side recognised in the UK as the GP had saw in march this year sucked- he just said it was body dysmorphia disorder because of the hatred of boobs without recognising it stems from gender identity. am a client of the social services intelectual disability team and see their specialized pyschiatrist and pyschologist but they have no gender training so have not got a clue what to do.

Hey! Welcome to the forums!
I am glad to see that Google searches are finally leading people to our sites! We are always here to help, and I am sure you will find our forums a great judgment free zone for you to come to express your feelings, and to get general advice, and guidance. As for your "does anyone know the process to getting the transgender side recognised in the UK?" question. I personally do not. I am not the most familiar with UK laws. But where there is a will, there is a way!!
Let me know if there is ever anything we can do to help! ~Matt
