My name is Nathan Simko. This is my first post, yaaaay!!!!! I was born Nov 16th 1980 in Detroit, MI. #puremichigan lol
I came out to my parents when I was 15 and was immediately told I would go to hell. My Christian parents completely botched the whole process and made every wrong decision in helping me. I spent the next 15 yrs living with self hatred and struggling with Christianity and homosexuality. It wasn't until around the age 31 after my second suicide attempt that through counseling I finally accepted myself and being gay. I did my first interview, a podcast with a friend and found telling my story liberating and empowering. I know I want to do either radio or podcasting to help LGBT youth in the future.
