I am bi and ex-military. I've been working contract security for over 20 years and i feel like i'm in the wrong field of security. The world we live in grows more uncertain every day and i believe that people of the LGBT community deserve to feel safe too. Especially since crime is on the rise, it's a cold hard fact. So a change of career, i want to provide peace of mind and a sense of security to the LGBT community in north Florida. I have the skill set to do so and the willingness to step into harm's way to protect someone. I am familiar with the Florida statutes regarding "defense of ohers". Other security professionals might not want to keep the people of the community safe, but i will. Beacause if people in the LGBT community feel safe then they have better lives and they can worry about other things like "does this shirt go with my eyes?". I have a craigslist ad under "services>small biz ads" for craigslist-Jacksonville. So i hope i can have the privilege of keeping people in the gay community safe and secure.

Hey! Welcome, to the forums! Sorry for the late response. I have had a lot going on lately!! I think what you want to do is amazing!! I know that people in the LGBT Community greatly appreciate what you are trying to do. And you are correct, there are not enough people out there who want to protect the LGBT Community. Most people just want to hurt it. If you have not done so already, try checking out the UNF LGBT Resource center, and tell them what you want to do. They may have a spot for you, or know of someone who does!! Best of luck, and let us know how it goes!! ~Matt P.S. - Thank you for your military service. It is individuals like you who make the world a safer place for people like me!
