Hey all, I am new to this site and thought it could be beneficial and fun to introduce myself. I am questioning gender and sexuality, but I am relatively sure I am pansexual, and either genderqueer, bigender, non binary gender, agender and maybe even trans. Im content with just sticking with "queer" for a while. I have not been questioning my sexuality for a terribly long time, but I have made a lot of progress, for lack of a better word. I have had my battles with depression and anxiety and a lot of not fun stuff, which I believe has a strong connection to me not being able to be me. Not knowing who I am, what I am and how I can love myself. Now that I have determined that I am queer, I do feel better about myself.
Anyways, these are probably questions that have been asked a million times but Im gonna ask them nonetheless.
How did you find out your gender identity and really make it yours?
How to deal with LGBT based drama, maybe not directed at you but dealing with all the hate and misunderstanding? (Im going to a catholic school next year, but I am still in the closet about my sexuality)
So there is my little intro, until next time -Verdelet

Verdelet, First off, welcome to the forums!! I apologize for the late response. I have had a lot going on, and have not had as much time to get on the forums as I would like. Now to answer your questions! How did you find out your gender identity and really make it yours? You know, that is a good question. I do not remember how I found out my gender identity. I just followed my heart, and it lead me to where I am today. So many people get caught up into trying to fit into a label, or trying to be what the world thinks they should be. However, that is not at all what you should do. For now, when it comes to finding who you really are do not worry about the labels, or the names, or trying to figure out what "stereotype" you are. Just follow you heart. Do what really makes you happy. Love who you want to love, dress how you want to dress, and be who you are. When you do all of this you will find out just who you are. Then, and only then... will you be able to figure out which "category" you fit into. Just don't focus on the label. Focus on your happiness. How to deal with LGBT based drama, maybe not directed at you but dealing with all the hate and misunderstanding? (Im going to a catholic school next year, but I am still in the closet about my sexuality) The best way I deal with this, is to not get involved in it. Any time there is drama, or hate, or misunderstanding it is best to keep yourself out of it as much as possible. Don't let others bring you down. Your life is not theirs to live! Live your life to make you happy. Not to make anyone else happy. -- I hope this helps a little. We are always here if you need someone to talk to! ~Matt
