Hi everyone! I am new here, and what brought me here is that I have recently been questioning my sexuality a bit. I am a girl in college, and I have had a boyfriend for many years, and so I’ve only ever done anything physical with guys, specifically him. But I feel that I have experienced attraction to girls at various times in my life, probably starting around high school. This is something I didn’t pay too much attention to in the past, since I have been committed to this boyfriend and so attraction to girls or not, I wasn’t going to be acting on any of that. Somehow, recently, I have really pulled this aspect of myself to the forefront of my mind, and have actually been grappling with it and trying to come to terms with it. I feel like I’m in a bit of a weird spot where I don’t quite know where I fit in the LGBT community, because my attraction to girls has felt real, but I’ve never acted on any of it, because my attraction and love for my boyfriend is very real too. From what I’ve been reading online, it seems like some people who identify as bisexual have also experienced the similar difficulty of trying to pick a term to identify with if they have only been with a certain gender or have a tendency to pick one gender over the other. I just started to talk to my boyfriend about this last night, and so far he has shown me lots of support and kindness, and didn’t seem to feel weird about it at all, so that’s good news!
If any of you would be willing to chime in and let me know where you feel I would best fit in in the LGBT community that would be great. Also, if you have any advice on bringing up the topic to a very small group of friends, or on how to come out and come to terms with this within myself, I would love to hear it!
Also, I'm going to include some other stuff about me so you can get to know me as well and not just my sexuality. I am a business major who loves to read, play video games, and spend time with my close friends.
