As many of you are aware early Sunday morning there was a deadly shooting leaving at least 50 dead, and 53 injured at "Pulse," a gay nightclub in Orlando Florida. The attack was so severe that it is being described as "the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history." The gunman, identified as Omar Mateen; referenced ISIS in a 911 call. Omar's father said that the shooter had seen two men kissing in Miami a few weeks earlier, and it made him angry. Omar's father thinks this was the cause of the shooting.
It has now been reported that ISIS is claiming responsibility for the shooting.
My heart is broken after hearing this news. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. So many young people taken from this world far to early, with so much life left to live. We must all stay strong in this time of pain. We must love, and care for each other. We must be there for each other. We must hold our ground, and recover from this.
This is 2016 not 1920. I don't understand why people still have such a huge hatred for the LGBT Community.
Feel free to post your comments, and thoughts below. ~ Matt

So many beautiful young people. So many destroyed families. Friends lost forever. Hatred based on one man who did not like to see two men kissing. That's the current story. How can a small act of love elicit such hatred?
So many bodies yet to be identified. Cell phones continuing to sound with texts that will never be answered.
This is the result of protecting our right to bear arms? This is the result of our insistence that assault weapons are admissible in the general population? This is the result of religiosity? This is the outcome of those in power refusing to make a difference, refusing to change the insufficient protections to our country.
These guns were bought within the past week, here in FL. Legally. By a person investigated twice by the FBI for terrorist language.
I don't have much really, to say right now. Everything hurts too much and I have a massive headache as a result of all the crying.

To wrap my head around the horror and magnitude of this tragedy is going to take some time. I am in deep shock, I am hurt, Angry, sad and about 100 feelings all at once. Some of these feelings are new, made by this epic tragedy. That's a bad feeling. Feeling like I have never before felt is a frightening feeling. I refuse to let the haters win. Love is always going to conquer over evil. Almost hear the voice of God saying Don't make me stop this car. This is beyond anything I have ever experienced.

My Family is greatly saddened by this senseless massacre! Isis is ugly, hateful, and dangerous! Mental illness drives them to act destructively through their so-called religious beliefs. Our thoughts go out to all the families and friends who lost loved ones. We must Unite together and not be defeated! We remind our son each day how much we love him because the world is in such chaos.
