It seems like now days EVERYONE has a tattoo... or 506! I once heard "Your body is your book, your tattoos are your story." So true! Share your tattoos, and the story behind your tattoos here! (Keep it clean, no photos of tattoos on, or near x-rated parts of your body." I once heard "Your body is a blank book, your tattoos are your story." So true! I have 10 tattoos, and each and every one of them has some sort of story/personal meaning behind them. The first one I am going to share is by far my favorite tattoo. These words could not be more true, and it is also part of a larger tattoo that will all be exposed over time! For now heres a little teaser: It says "Don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set!" and I LOVE IT! ~Matt

I love my tattoos, I have 8 and I would love to have like 20 more!! I have two planned right now and I will get them within the next year. I take a lot of time when I plan my tattoos, all of them have personal deep meaning. I am not a sketch pad where I put just anything on my body. Like Matt said they are part of your story, If you get them make sure they are something you CAN NOT live without! They should be special and something you are proud to show off. Below are two of my favorites! My music note is in memory of my grandfather who passed away a few years ago. He was a High School Band teacher for over 30 years and truly gave me my love for all things music related. He taught me that there is more to music than good lyrics, that sometimes a simple melody can carry you away. My dinosaur is a tattoo that my best friend Leah and I thought up. We originally came across the 11-2-1 symbol which stands for "best friends" 11 letters, 2 words, 1 meaning. We took that and made it our own by turning them into roman numerals. The dinosaur itself came from when we have a bad day we always tell each other Rawr which means "I love you" in dinosaur. So we added him to the mix and even named him Philbert. Now I need one for Matt and I, we are more than best friends he is like my Gay Soul Mate and my family! He is a Super HUGE part of my story so it would only be fitting for him to be apart of my book somewhere! We just need the perfect idea and I know one day we will find it! Much Love, Rae**

I currently only have two tattoos, I have plans for around. Four or five more though. I have a tribal butterfly on my right shoulder blade, I got it the day I turned 18. It was my b-day gift to myself. (Ill edit the post and put pics later, when I'm on my pc). To me butterflies mean freedom, and I've always kinda been in my shell or cacoon if you will. Finally I felt like I found myself, somewhat and went with that one.
My second tattoo is actually another tribal type piece but its a heart. I got it done last year. My friend did it for me in my dining room lol, there really is Jo bug meaning behind that tattoo. I just wanted another and I knew I wanted it to be a heart of sorts and settled for a tribal type one to keep it somewhat matching my butterfly. The heart is on my right calf.
As far as future tattoos go, I plan on getting the kanji for love on my forearm and the word love on my other forearm. I'm getting a memorial tattoo for my grandparents on my left shoulder, still hashing out the design for that one. I'm getting an autisim/asperger awearness tattoo on my left calf as I was diagnose with Aspergers a couple years ago. Lastly my birth father and I have been talking about getting a matching father daughter tattoo lol.

I have 7 tats, but the one that is probably most meaningful to me is the Chinese character for "truth" that I got shortly after I came out in 1996 (on my birthday that year, as a matter of fact--my birthday gift to myself). It's on the bottom-side of my right wrist and it's in my favorite color, purple. It's a reminder to me every single day that I never, ever have to lie about myself again. A simple yet beautiful thought and a simply yet beautiful tattoo (if I do say so myself)!

I love my tattoos! I told myself when I got my first one that it was the only one I was going to get, well 8 later that obviously didn't hold up! I am fully addicted and I can't wait to get more!!

I might get another tattoo that says "Vivir mi vida", which means "live my life" in spanish. Or I might just get that instead of my original. Not sure yet. Also, for people who have tattoos: I´m wanting to get it above my arm near my shoulder...but I´m not sure how I want to place it. I kinda want to have it wrap up my warm kinda like a spiral, but i don´t know....suggestions? :/ I'm the worst at planning other peoples tattoos. I make sure when I get a tattoo that I plan it out... the font, the location, everything. I then wait 6 months to a year. If I still want it just as bad as I did when I planned it. Then I will get it. That way I can be sure that what I have I really want, and that I won't regret it. I suggest the same to everyone. If you want a tattoo ... Plan it. Location, font, colors... Then wait 6-12 months. If you still want it. . . Then and only then should you get. ~Matt

I am totally with Matt when it comes to planning a tattoo. My best advice would be go to a shop and talk to an artist about placement. They are the best when it comes to that. If something isn't going to look good where you want it, they will do their best to place it as close to the area you want as they can all the while still making it look really good!

Do like I suggested! Pick one, a location, a fount, a design... And if you still really like it in 6 months then get it! But make sure you really like it! It's not something that can easily be removed! ~Matt

So if I would have known Matt 5 yrs ago I wouldn't have any tattoos. However, I have 2 badly planned tattoos. One on my right shoulder of a band and their logo. I really like them but a band tattoo..really??? Then a couple years ago I HAD a best friend that wanted to get the boondock saints tattoos on our forearms. I picked Veritas because the "truth" means everything to me. I picked out the font and location and I was excited. Until the guy never finished it. Then robbed me. Then the second person screwed it up and most of her color came out in a week after "completing" it. Two years later.. Still not finished

I would die if I had to go 2 years with out a tattoo being finished. I'm sorry you have had such bad luck with tattoos. They really can be an amazing thing! ~Matt
