How about a thread where we can write good positive, uplifting quotes that we've encountered in our trips on this big blue marble in space. Famous or not-so-famous. Our own words, or someone else's. You never know when someone who might need those words may happen upon them. Posting here could be like "paying it forward". Call me an old-fashioned liberal (go ahead... really...it's OK  ), but--to paraphrase the Bible--I really do believe that we are our brother's ( and sister's) keeper, in the very best sense of those words! We really need to take care of one another, as best we can...and this may be a good place to help do that!  I'll begin by posting a pic of one of my favorites...  |

My current phrase to live by is:

My favorite quote is "Don't swim in the mainstream" my best friend, Sara, was making this drawing of a mermaid, and we were talking about what our life quote should be, and then she said; yours should be "don't swim in the mainstream" because you never do and I admire that about you. She then wrote it on the mermaid's t-shirt and said this is how You would look like if You were a mermaid. this is now the quote I live by and it's perfect for me, because I'm a swim coach and because I would hate to see myself do what others do just because they do it. So don't swim in the mainstream - you'll drown of boredom |
