It seems like states' constitutional bans on same sex marriage have been falling down like dominoes since doma and prop 8 were repealed. Congrats to Arkansas and hopefully this victory is not short lived.

As of today, at 4:35pm, gay marriages are now on hold in Arkansas. Meaning no gay couple can get married until further notice. At this point "gay marriages have been ban from the state of Arkansas" not such great news for Matt and I after all. ~Matt

It seems to be the trend in states that are more conservative. Ban is lifted, revised and then eventually permanently lifted. Stay positive Matt because I believe with all my being that someday you and Matt will be legally together forever. Your love will carry you through this time!!! Love ya guys

At this point "gay marriages have been ban from the state of Arkansas" not such great news for Matt and I after all. ~Matt Waiting for long-overdue justice is excruciating--especially when the justice you demand is your own. It just seems sometimes like the world spins so slowly, and we often wonder if our new day will ever appear on that distant horizon. I know that hope can feel like a dangerous thing when you've been struggling for so long, but I do believe that it is in our nature, as humans and as children of God, to brazenly hold onto hope even when it seems that we can find little evidence to justify it. Hope--like love--can be a stubborn thing...it must be a stubborn thing. And, really, love is what we're fighting for, isn't it? It's what I believe we have always been fighting for. Is there a more noble cause or a greater motivator than love? I can't think of one. Love is that ethereal condition made of steel: either it exists as the strongest bond in which human beings can ever engage, or it exists not at all.
A long time ago, I learned in Sunday School that "love is patient...it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." This is what we not only hope for, but what we struggle mightily for!
I believe that we will have to continue to endure some periods of darkness as we fight that good fight, because fear and ignorance never easily give up the ghost. I also believe, though, that as long as we remember what it is we really seek--as long as we refuse to shrink from the fight, no matter how difficult it may seem--as long as we commit ourselves to making sure the world understands what truly motivates us--and, as long as we never hesitate to remind the world that, for us, there is no "Plan B"--the daylight will not find us, we will find the daylight!
Keep the faith, my brother!
